Instructions for moving out

If you have terminated your lease agreement or your fixed-term lease is ending, please read these instructions carefully before your move. We hope you have enjoyed your time as a tenant of Soihtu!

Please remember that termination of the tenancy agreement must be done in writing, observing the notice period. For an indefinite tenancy agreement, the notice period is one full calendar month. A fixed-term tenancy agreement is contracted for a specific period, and its end date cannot be changed.

1. Check your payments

Ensure that all payments, such as rent and possible sauna and water fees, are settled before the agreement ends. You can check your up-to-date payment status on the Tenant’s Page. If you have a parking space through eParking, remember to terminate that as well. If you moved into a Soihtu apartment before 2022 and paid a deposit, remember to provide your account number and contact information for the return of the deposit via the electronic form.

2. Pre-inspections

Soihtu Facility Services conducts pre-inspections in the apartments of MNOP as well as some individual apartments during the month of moving out. An email notification about the pre-inspection will be sent to the tenant approximately one or two weeks before the pre-inspection. The tenant does not need to be present during the pre-inspection.

3. Prepare for the moving date

The apartment must be vacated by 12:00 PM on the first working day following the termination of the tenancy agreement. Before moving day, pack all belongings or deliver them for recycling. Furniture or garbage must not be left in the apartment, storage room, or building corridor. Check the recycling options for your building on our website (link below).

Also, remember to notify Posti and the Digital and Population Data Services Agency of your move.

If you need scheduling tips, also read the How to prepare for moving -section.

4. Move-out cleaning

Make a proper move-out cleaning after you have emptied your apartment. If needed, check the instructions on our website (link below).

5. Return all your keys

Return all your keys latest at 12:00 noon on the first working day following the termination of the tenancy agreement. The keys have to be returned to the mail box at Soihtu Housing service point. When returning the keys to Soihtu, you are surrendering the apartment for the landlord’s use.

6. Apartment inspection

Following your move-out, an apartment inspection will be conducted, and you will receive a separate report via email.

If the apartment needs to be repaired, the cleaning has remarkable lacks or the keys have not been returned on time, the deficiencies, keys and / or possible extra rent will be invoiced from the tenant according to the valid price list.

Kindly give us feedback!

A few days after your move, you will receive a brief survey via email, and we hope you will respond to it. Only with your feedback can we improve our services!
