Soihtu’s restaurant Ilokivi participates in the Wasteless Food Services in Finland project
The goal of the Wasteless Food Services in Finland (WFSF) project is to find solutions and good practices to reduce the amount of food waste in private and public food services in Finland. 19 different types of food service operators from different parts of Finland are involved in the project. Restaurant Ilokivi, part of Soihtu Business Unit of JYY, is one of the restaurants selected for the project.
An energy renovation project begins at Soihtu Vehkakuja
n the energy renovation, a heat recovery system based on exhaust air heat pump technology will be built for the Soihtu Vehkakuja buildings. When the renovation is complete, the warm exhaust air of the buildings is recovered and used in heating. During summer, the recovered heat can be used also to heat domestic water, so the district heating consumption of the location will reduce significantly.
Personnel changes in the Soihtu Housing team – Jenna Pigg to service manager, Anni Pajari to community manager
There have been changes in Soihtu Housing staff in August and September that are visible to the tenants as well. Soihtu Housing’s personnel are involved in the residents' daily lives both at Soihtu Housing service point in Vehkakuja 2b and at Rentukka info desk in Kortepohja Student Village, where Soihtu Housing staff members work on a rotating shift.

Outage in Soihtu’s broadband network on Tuesday, August 23 – Applies to all Soihtu’s housing locations
The use of Soihtu's Broadband Network, technically part of the University of Jyväskylä's Student Network, will be interrupted due to urgent maintenance work on the core network on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. The outage is expected to last approximately one hour between 17:00 and 18:00.
