We have added information on Soihtu’s construction work
One of the goals of Soihtu’s communications for the year 2021 has been to increase the communications of our construction sites. Currently we are undertaking a historical Tower blocks’ renovation in Kortepohja and the Soihtu Korttelikylä worksite in Mäki-Matti, the corner of Pitkäkatu and Nuuskakuja.
These remarkable projects not only change the urban environment but also can be seen and heard by Soihtu’s own tenants and several other citizens daily. Determining from the feedback and questions we have received, it’s evident that the progress of the projects is of interest to Soihtu’s tenants, student union members and other stakeholders, and we want to better meet this need of information.
We have now gathered current information about our on-going construction sites on one page. In addition to short depictions of each project, we will be updating details of the progress of each worksite. In the bottom of the page, articles about our area development and construction projects can be found. The page is available in Finnish and in English.
In addition to Soihtu’s own construction site info, we have also added a link to the Kortepohja School and Day-Care Centre page, where this City of Jyväskylä’s massive project is pictured in detail. The City of Jyväskylä’s content is currently available in Finnish.

Happy news for the Kortepohja district: Subway signs a lease in the new U-building of Soihtu
Soihtu has signed a lease with Subcom Oy on the retail space located on the ground floor of the U-building, which is currently under construction. Subcom is Finland's largest Subway franchise company. A Subway restaurant will opened by Subcom in the U-building when the new building is completed in spring 2025.
