Common rooms in Korttelikylä

Tenants of Soihtu Korttelikylä has access to modern and comfortable common rooms. The common rooms located on the ground floor of building B include a comfortable study space with a separate meeting room, a common living room equipped with a community kitchen and wellness corner, a movie room and a common sauna.

Most of the facilities are freely available to the tenants of Soihtu Korttelikylä without prior reservations. Tenants’ committees of Soihtu and Koas have made a reservation system for the meeting room in Study space and the Cinema. Find instructions via link below.

Study space

In the study space, you will find several cozy workstations for quiet work. There is a meeting room connected to the study space, which can be used for meetings and group work. The space does not include devices, so tenants must bring their own laptop. In the meeting room you can find a TV screen for presentations.

Living room

The living room is a feel-good space where it’s easy to meet your neighbors! In the common living room, you will find a community kitchen, a lounge area and a wellness corner, where it is good to have a break from studies. There is also a TV screen in the common living room.

Cinema

Cinema is a cozy movie room that can be used freely by all tenants. The room is perfect for joint movie nights and other smaller events. You can reserve the room for your own use via Tenants’ Committees’ booking calendar (link above).

Korttelikylän sauna

Sauna

In the common sauna of building B, you can bath several days a week during common sauna shifts. Sauna shifts are divided into men’s and women’s shifts and unisex shifts. If you wish to have a private sauna shift, you can book the sauna in building D.

Soihtu aims for a new building in Kortepohja Student Village to serve e.g. students’ families. The new building will be placed along the Kartanonkuja street, between buildings Q and E. Provided that the new site of Soihtu receives a building permit from the city of Jyväskylä and a start permit from Ara, construction can begin in late autumn 2023.
