Rentukka Loop
Rentukka Loop is a new sharing service. Via Loop you can borrow items such as furniture, household supplies, tools, sports equipment, and event materials.
The service is being developed as part of the international Good Cities Interreg Europe project. In Jyväskylä the project has been coordinated by JYY, Soihtu, Sovatek and the City of Jyväskylä.
Rentukka Loop is a community-based sharing service that makes it easy, affordable, and sustainable to borrow the items you need for everyday life.
The service offers a wide range of items, including tools, household equipment, sports gear, event supplies, and furniture, so you do not need to buy everything yourself. By borrowing instead of buying, you can save money, reduce unnecessary consumption, and support a more sustainable lifestyle.
Rentukka Loop is more than just a lending service. It is also a place where people can share their skills, learn new ones, and build a stronger sense of community together. As part of its activities, Rentukka Loop hosts initiatives such as the Repair Village, where participants come together to repair, upcycle, and learn from one another.
The service is being developed in collaboration with JYY, Soihtu, Sovatek, and the City of Jyväskylä as part of the Good Cities Interreg Europe project, which aims to promote sustainable and inclusive urban development.

How it works
- Join Rentukka LOOP as a member.
- Browse available tools and reserve what you need.
- Pick up tools at the scheduled time.
- Use the tools responsibly.
- Return them by the due date.
As a member you have access to more tools and household items and most of them are free of charge. Some of the tools are available for occasional reservations with a small fee.
Our mission is to make tools and other household items more accessible while building practical skills and community connections. We warmly welcome everyone interested in the sharing economy and reducing consumption. We encourage the safe and respectful use of all shared equipment.
The activity does not aim to generate a profit. Membership and rental fees cover the costs of the lending service and fund the acquisition of new items for circulation.
Rentukka Lending Machine
At Rentukka, you’ll also find a self-service lending machine where you can rent a variety of everyday items whenever it suits you.
The machine offers items such as a carpet and upholstery cleaner, step ladders, garden games, power drills, and other tools. Download the Lainappi app to explore the service in more detail!
