Updates in the booking terms of reservable facilities operated by Soihtu now in effect
Soihtu operates several one-time bookable facilities owned by JYY that are suitable for celebrations and recreation for JYY members and other city residents.
These include:
- Opinkivi sauna (Keskussairaalantie 2)
- Private sauna Bastu (Taitoniekantie 9 B)
- meeting space Lillukka (Taitoniekantie 9, Rentukka Building).
The updates in the booking terms apply to all reservations in the single-time bookable meeting and leisure facilities operated by Soihtu and owned by JYY, which can be booked by both residents of Soihtu, JYY members and other city residents (“Saunas and leisure rooms of Soihtu”).
The following changes will take effect immediately:
The name of the Cancellation and change policy
- In addition to cancellation, the policy applies to changes to reservations (Cancellation and change policy).
- In summary: The reservation can be postponed to another time or cancelled up to 14 days before the reservation. For changes and cancellations made after this, 50% of the facility rent will be charged from the booker.
Clarifications to the payment term
- If the booker wants Soihtu to send a paper invoice for the facility rent to the address provided by the booker, a payment method fee of €5 will be charged in addition to the facility rent and any selected additional services.
- Invoices sent by email and online payments will remain free payment methods.
Changes to take effect immediately – holders of current bookings have been notified
The changes that will take effect immediately apply to all new and existing reservations for JYY leisure and meeting facilities operated by Soihtu (Lillukka, Bastu sauna, Opinkivi Sauna, Bertta meeting room). All holders of a valid reservation have been sent an email notification that the terms and conditions have been updated.
Price change of Opinkivi sauna effective from 1.7.2024
The following changes will take effect for Opinkivi sauna reservations made as of 1.7.2024:
- Opinkivi sauna rent 280 (JYY members 180) €
- Outdoor jacuzzi when booking sauna 90 (JYY members 70) €

Opinkivi sauna will be out of use 17.6.-5.7.2024 due to floor renovation. The renovation will not affect the customer reservations for the Opinkivi sauna or meeting room, which have been taken into account in the renovation schedule.

The Soihtu Housing Service Point now operates at the Ilokivi Student Union Building on campus together with JYY Member Services. During the autumn, the opening hours of the service point will be unified to make customer service even clearer and smoother.
