Types of keys

There are different keys in use for Soihtu’s buildings. Keys are a tenants’ responsibility so take good care of your own keys.

If you need a door opening, call Soihtu Facility Services.

Student Village

Soihtu Vehkakuja

A magnetic stripe key card for the apartment and common rooms and a separate contactless key card (Village key) with which the gym and studying spaces in Rentukka can be accessed. 

Soihtu Korttelikylä

Contactless key card with which in addition to the apartment, the common rooms in Korttelikylä and the gym and some of the common rooms in Rentukka can be accessed.

What Village Key?

As a Soihtu tenant you will get a Village Key. With the Village Key you can enter following common rooms within each room’s opening hours:

  • Rentukka gym & weight-lifting room
  • Rentukka facilities (not Club room nor rooms with extra payment)
  • Common sauna shifts in buildings A & F (in the Student Village)
  • Common laundry rooms (in the Student Village)
  • In some buildings, the Village Key includes also the apartment key

Positive prospects for Soihtu’s new construction project in the Kortepohja Student Village

Soihtu aims for a new building in Kortepohja Student Village to serve e.g. students’ families. The new building will be placed along the Kartanonkuja street, between buildings Q and E. Provided that the new site of Soihtu receives a building permit from the city of Jyväskylä and a start permit from Ara, construction can begin in late autumn 2023.
