When you move out, return the keys as instructed – this ensures the next tenant can move in on time
At the beginning of each month, some of Soihtu’s apartments receive new tenants. The keys are handed over to the new tenant on the first business day of the month at 12:00 noon. Of course, the new tenant can also pick up the keys later than the first business day of the lease agreement if they wish.
The easiest way to pick up the keys is through Soihtu’s key box. If you are a new tenant, you need to make the request at least 3 working days in advance if you wish to get the key to the key box. The key box is available 24/7, which adds convenience to your moving day.
Be careful when returning the keys
At the beginning of each month, some tenants also move out of Soihtu properties.
A tenant moving out must return all keys by 12:00 noon on the first working day following the end of the tenancy agreement to the Soihtu Housing Service Point or its mailbox (Vehkakuja 2 B). For example, if a tenant’s tenancy ends on the last day of July, they must return the keys to the Soihtu Housing Service Point by 12:00 noon on August 1, 2024.
We instruct the tenant to return the keys on time to ensure the new tenant’s move goes as smoothly as possible. Occasionally, situations arise where the tenant, contrary to instructions, leaves the keys in the apartment, and we have to pick up them. This not only delays the new tenant’s move but also incurs costs.
The compensation price list includes charges for incorrect key returns. The instructions for returning and collecting keys also apply to those changing apartments within Soihtu.
Returning keys
If you are moving out, please be careful when returning the keys.
- Return the keys by 12:00 noon on the first working day following the end of the tenancy agreement to the Soihtu Housing Service Point (Vehkakuja 2 B).
- As a moving out tenant, you do not need to queue at customer service, you can return the keys in an envelope to our mailbox (Vehkakuja 2 B).
- Make sure you return all the keys you received.
- Do not leave the keys in the apartment. Return them to the landlord according to the above instructions.
- If a friend is returning the keys on your behalf, ensure they adhere to the return schedule.
- We will charge the tenant for late or incorrect returns.
