Emma makes moving easier at Soihtu

From May 2026 onward, Soihtu has introduced a new browser-based digital tool, Emma, into permanent use. Emma brings apartment inspections directly to residents and makes the moving process smoother.

The application has been in pilot use since January 2026, and the experiences have been very positive. Based on these good results, Emma will now continue as part of Soihtu’s moving process.

Smoother Moves and Fewer Complaints

Emma has significantly simplified apartment inspections, especially during busy moving days. At the same time, problems related to move-ins have decreased: apartments are handed over in cleaner condition, the number of complaints has dropped, and billable cleaning cases have decreased.

The success is thanks to both Emma and Soihtu residents, who have handed over their apartments in clean and good condition according to the instructions.

What is Emma?

Emma is an application designed for apartment inspections, allowing residents to complete the move-out inspection using a clear checklist. Every resident who is moving out receives an Emma link (leading to the browser-based tool) via text message and email at the beginning of the month.

With the move-out checklist and final inspection, residents can ensure that all necessary cleaning and checks have been completed before handing over the apartment. The checklist can be filled out throughout the month at your own pace. For example, cleaning the oven, kitchen cabinets, or removing limescale in the bathroom can be done well in advance. This allows you to focus on lighter final cleaning and moving items on the actual moving day.

Protection for Residents

Emma helps document the condition of the apartment clearly and comprehensively. When the move-out inspection is completed through the application, it also serves as proof of the apartment’s condition upon handover. This protects residents from possible additional charges later on.

A move-in inspection feature is currently being developed for the application. This will allow new residents to document the condition of the apartment during the first month after moving in. It will replace the apartment condition report currently used by Soihtu. More information about this feature will be provided once it is ready.

Emma is here to stay – making moving clearer, easier, and smoother.
