Soihtu follows the guidelines by the Student Union JYY, the University of Jyväskylä JYU and the City of Jyväskylä by implementing the procedures preventing the spread of the coronavirus. The City of Jyväskylä closes all its gyms from 30.11.2020 onward. Also the uMove Academic Sports have halted all their activities for the remaining fall 2020. On the time this notification is published, the City of Jyväskylä recommends for example that private meetings of over 10 people are not organized and that face masks are worn at all public indoor spaces. The City of Jyväskylä gives information in English on their webpage and in the News section of the jyvaskyla.fi frontpage.
The Student Union of the University of Jyväskylä JYY also takes part in communicating the new University of Jyväskylä guidelines. The new JYU guidelines include e.g. a recommendation about distance teaching. The University of Jyväskylä updates the recommendations on the JYU webpage.
