Soihtu Housing’s New Service Manager Values Smooth Interaction

Katri Pennanen, the new Service Manager at Soihtu Housing, started in her role in mid-November 2025. She is responsible for the overall housing services, developing customer experience, and leading the team. In addition, she is part of Soihtu’s management team.

Katri Pennanen brings extensive experience in leadership and service development from the hotel industry, as well as in coaching staff towards a customer-oriented approach. She has further strengthened her expertise through master’s level studies in service management. Katri describes her position at the intersection of people and services as highly rewarding.

“Soihtu has done excellent work in improving the customer experience, and I’m excited to continue building on that. For us, it’s important to engage in genuine interaction with our tenants and customers and ensure they feel truly heard when dealing with us.”

From the perspective of Soihtu business goals, developing customer experience is highly significant, as smooth everyday life for students is also included in the strategy of the owner of Soihtu, the Student Union of the University of Jyväskylä (JYY).
