Rent increases in March 1,5 – 2,5 %

The Student Union Council of Representatives of the University of Jyväskylä, when approving the budget for Kortepohja Student Village, and the board of Soihtu business unit, when approving the budgets for Soihtu Vehkakuja and Soihtu Korttelikylä, have agreed on an average rent increase of 1.5–2.5% per month for the year 2025, depending on the apartment building and apartment type. The raises have become necessary because of the general rise in maintenance costs, the current interest rate level, and the increase in debt servicing obligations. The rent increases in all housing locations and apartment types.

Tenants will receive the information of the rent increase by email. The new rent of your room or apartment is stated in the rent increase letter. Please notice that the rent increase will come into effect in March 2025. In December, January and February, you will pay rent as previously. Remember to use the reference number when paying the rent. The reference number will not change after the rent increase.
