Office of Soihtu Moves to Ilokivi Student Union Building

The office of Soihtu will move from Vehkakuja to the Ilokivi Student Union Building on the Seminaarinmäki campus in May 2025.

JYY and Soihtu Under One Roof

The Student Union of the University of Jyväskylä (JYY) wants to centralize its operations at Ilokivi. Space will become available on the second floor of Ilokivi, allowing the operations of Soihtu to be moved from Vehkakuja to the Student Union Building. The office space at Vehkakuja will be rented out to an external party.

Customer Service During the Move

Soihtu already offers most tenant services online and remotely. As electronic services develop, fewer everyday matters for tenants require a visit to the office. We aim to make the move as smooth as possible. We will inform our tenants about the detailed schedule and practical arrangements of the move during the spring.

New Facilities to Support the Work of Soihtu and JYY

A work environment development project will be implemented in the Ilokivi premises, with the help of work environment development experts. A large part of our work is specialist work, which is done both independently with focus and in small workgroups. Our goal is to create a multi-space office environment that will serve our work even better than the current facilities, well into the future.
