Easier Service – New Opening Hours
Since the summer, the Soihtu Housing Service Point has been operating at the Ilokivi Student Union Building on the Seminaarinmäki campus. The same service point also provides JYY’s member services. During the autumn, the opening hours of the service point will be unified to make customer service even clearer and smoother.
New service hours (starting from 20 October 2025):
- Mondays 11:30–13:00
- Wednesdays 11:30–13:00
In addition to these times, it is still possible to book a personal service appointment for housing-related matters on other weekdays. Those visiting for member services can check additional service hours on JYY’s website.
On the first working day of each month, the Soihtu Housing Service Point will be open from 10:00 to 14:00.
“By unifying our service hours, we aim to make the service experience clearer,” says Jenni Kirkkomäki Service Manager of Soihtu Housing. “We will try this model for the rest of the year and hope to receive feedback on whether these opening hours serve our customers better than before.”
New Contact Options
Most contacts with Soihtu Housing are now made through digital channels, which is why the phone service hours will be adjusted to better meet current needs. The updated phone service hours will be published later on the Contacts page.
During the autumn, Soihtu Housing will also introduce a WhatsApp channel – an easy and fast way to get in touch.
“You can send a housing-related message whenever it’s convenient for you, and we’ll reply as soon as possible during service hours,” says Kirkkomäki. “WhatsApp works perfectly for short questions, and that’s why we’re excited to start using it.”
The Service Point at Ilokivi

- Entrance through the main doors (see the picture)
- The new service point and Soihtu Key Box are located in the lobby of Ilokivi, on the right-hand side when viewed from the entrance. The key return slot is located next to the main entrance doors.
