Current apartment situation
Soihtu has three housing locations in Jyväskylä: Kortepohja Student Village, Soihtu Korttelikylä and Soihtu Vehkakuja. All apartments of September have now been offered to applicants.
We offer apartments that are available later in autumn to those who have sent an apartment application. Apartments and rooms will be available all year round. Please note that there is no separate housing queue, the student apartments are offered based on the applicant’s needs.
The apartment application is valid for three months at a time. A week before it expires, you will receive an email reminding that the application is expiring. You can renew the application on the applicant’s page. You can also edit or delete your application on the applicant’s page. Please remember to update your application correctly if there are any changes to your information (e.g. e-mail or address changes).

Furnished rooms
Most of our apartments are unfurnished. Soihtu has furnished apartments in Kortepohja Student Village, but during the academic year, we reserve them for the exchange students of the University of Jyväskylä and JAMK University of Applied Sciences. JYU and JAMK have reserved a limited number of apartments for their exchange students. Soihtu can only guarantee a furnished student apartment for those exchange students, whose accommodation has been agreed with JYU or JAMK. All furnished apartments have been offered for the autumn semester 2023.

Reforms to services
Soihtu wants to offer its customers the smoothest possible customer service experience. Starting in September, you can book a personal service appointment at the Housing Service Point through the online booking system.
When you move out, return the keys as instructed – this ensures the next tenant can move in on time
We instruct the tenant to return the keys on time to ensure the new tenant's move goes as smoothly as possible. The compensation price list now includes charges for incorrect and late key returns.
August apartments offered
All apartments available at the beginning of August have now been offered, and most have already had tenancy agreements signed. Individual apartments or shared rooms may still become available at the beginning of August if someone declines their apartment offer.
