Recycling room
In the recycling room on the ground floor of building R (door B). Tenants can bring in usable items that can still be of use to someone else.
Instructions and rules of the Recycling room
- The daily usage hours are from 8 am to 10 pm. You can access the room with your contactless key card.
- Only intact and usable furniture and items may be brought into the recycling room. Please do not bring broken or poor-condition items, and ensure the items are in good condition before bringing them to the room.
- Flammable objects or materials are not allowed in the room.
- Arrange items so that there is sufficient space to move around the room without obstacles. Do not place items in walkways to keep the space safe and easily accessible for everyone.
- Bringing food items into the recycling room is prohibited. Hygiene products may only be brought if they are unused and unopened (e.g., soaps, detergents).
- The recycling room is maintained by the Kortepohja Student Village Tenants’ Committee. Feedback and suggestions can be sent to info@rentukka.fi.
- If you have broken furniture or other large waste items, please take them to the collection point located behind the MNOP buildings. There are separate containers for electronic waste (SER) and large mixed waste, such as furniture. The SER collection container and large mixed waste container are locked. However, you can leave items for recycling next to the containers. The property maintenance team will regularly move the items into the containers.
Other tips concerning recycling
- Food items must not be left in the Recycling room. Instead, you can donate them, for example, in the Kortepohja WhatsApp or Telegram group.
- There is also recycling or giving away groups on Facebook, where you can post your own announcement.
- Kortepohja also has its own channels on Discord and Jodel, where you can connect with other nearby residents.
If you cannot find a use for the item, please recycle it responsibly
Waste disposal in housing locations of Soihtu is handled with concentrated waste collection points in which most of the container are deep collection containers.
