Changing apartments

After accepting the apartment offer, you have to fill in the form for changing apartments to terminate your current rent agreement. Your rent agreement will end on the day before your new rent agreement begins. That means you don’t have to consider the normal notice period when moving from one Soihtu apartment to another.

You can pick up the keys for your new apartment on the first working day after 12 (noon) when your rent agreement is valid. The keys of your current apartment may also have to be returned on the first working day that follows the last day of your rent agreement by 12 noon if a new tenant is moving into your old apartment. So, please consider when planning your move that it might not be possible to arrange time for moving. If you want to find out whether you can pick up the keys for your new apartment earlier or return the keys for your old apartment later, please contact our customer service.

Example: Currently, you live in building A and have accepted an apartment offer from building H. Your rent agreement in building H will begin on the 1st of September. You fill in the form for changing apartments to terminate your rent agreement for building A. Your rent agreement in building A will end on the 31st of August. You can pick up the keys for building H at latest at 12 (noon) on the 1st of September on (if that is the first working day of month). You have to return the keys for building A on the 1st of September by 12 noon.

It is good to prepare for the moving day beforehand by packing your things and cleaning. We recommend that you clean the bathroom, stove, fridge, and possible balcony carefully already beforehand. It is also good to wipe the cabinets when emptying them. This way, there is less cleaning to do on the moving day and moving is easier.
